Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 21/ Trend , J. Babayeva/ Azerbaijani and Korean scientists will jointly study mad volcanoes in future.
This proposal was made by Korea’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Kwang-Chul Moon on Jan. 21 at the meeting with vice president of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences, director of Institute of Geology, academic Akif Alizade.
Korea offered cooperation between Korean and Azerbaijani scientists to study oil and gas structure in south Caspian hollow, mud volcanoes of Azerbaijan and naftalan natural medicinal oil in future. This proposal was orally coordinated at the meeting, the Institute of Geology said on Jan. 21..
The Azerbaijan’s Institute of Geology plans to create Atlas of world mud volcanoes and has called Korean scientists for participation. More than 300 mud volcanoes have been discovered in Azerbaijan.
In 2006 the Azerbaijan’s Institute of Geology and Korean Institute of Geological Sciences and Mineral Resources signed the agreement on cooperation.
