European Azerbaijanis Congress to hold third meeting

The 3rd meeting of the European Azerbaijanis Congress (EAC) will take place in Frankfurt on April 14.

The reports on Congress's work on Azerbaijanis in Europe, to maintain national and spiritual values, protect rights and freedoms of Azerbaijanis, inform the world communities about the realities of Azerbaijan and etc will be delivered at the meeting, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora said in Thursday.

The activity of Azerbaijani communities in Europe and proposals to improve EAC's activity, as well as centers that coordinate activities of EAC members in Europe will be reviewed. The meeting will be attended by heads and activists of Diaspora organizations in Europe, officials of Azerbaijan, members of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and other guests. A resolution is expected to be approved.

The European Azerbaijanis Congress was established at a meeting in Berlin on April 17, 2004. The main goal of the structure is to intensify ties among Azerbaijanis living in Europe, with their historic homeland, moral, political unity and solidarity among the Azerbaijanis of peace, protect their national, social and civil rights, maintain joint national-spiritual values and coordinate Azerbaijani communities and associations in the region. EAC comprises 40 Diaspora organizations. Natig Agamirov is the president of the EAC.
