Germany to host European Azerbaijanis Congress meeting

Germany will host the third meeting of the European Azerbaijanis Congress (EAC).

"EAC President Natig Agamirov will make a report on organizing our fellows in Europe, protecting national-moral values, protecting our fellows' rights and freedoms, publicizing Azerbaijani realities to world communities and work done in other fields in Frankfurt on April 14," the State Committee of Diasporas told Trend on April 13.

Moreover, the meeting will discuss fulfillment of main tasks of the action plan on the "European Azerbaijanis Congress in 2007-2009" which was developed in 2007 and approved by the Executive Committee in 2008. The participants of the meeting will examine different proposals to increase Azerbaijani communities' activities in Europe and strengthen the EAC's activity. "New diasporas will join the Congress, as well," the state committee said. "A resolution of the meeting will be adopted as a final document."

The European Azerbaijanis Congress was established at a meeting in Berlin on April 17, 2004. The main goal of the structure is to intensify ties among Azerbaijanis living in Europe, with their historic homeland, moral, political unity and solidarity among the Azerbaijanis of peace, protect their national, social and civil rights, maintain joint national-spiritual values and coordinate Azerbaijani communities and associations in the region.

The second meeting of the EAC was held in Baku on March 10 in 2007. This meeting specified key tasks of the organization at a new stage by basing on the Azerbaijani government's attention and care toward the diaspora establishment.
