The court has passed a sentence on the gang members accused of drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan.
The Serious Crimes Court sentenced residents of the Yardimli region, Malik Bashirov and his brother Fakhraddin Bashirov, Zakulla Jafarov and Islam Akbarov to 14 years in imprisonment.
These residents of the Yardimli region were arrested as a result of the National Security Ministry's operational search. They seized 12 kilograms of heroine, hashish and poppy.
The arrested are accused in accordance with Article 206.3.2 (smuggling of drug by group of people on preliminary agreement), and 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code
