The Azerbaijani National Women Field Hockey Team will participate in the "Challenge-1" competition in the Cape Town city of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) on Oct. 8.
The competition, which our national team will attend, will be held among the teams occupying 9th-16th places in the world ranking table. After the refusal of the Korean team, the number of participants of the tournament was reduced to seven. Our hockey players will meet in the Group A with the teams of Japan (Oct. 11), Chile (Oct. 12) and South Africa (Oct.14). In another group, the teams of Spain, New Zealand and Italy will contest.
According to the regulations, the teams that occupy first two places in the groups, will compete for medals in the Group C, which will be formed later. The squads which will have low results in the Groups A and B, will contest for 5th-7th places in the Group D. The tournament will end on Oct. 18.
