A trial took place on the case of gang smuggling arms from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the Court on Heinous Crimes on Nov. 18, the prosecutor requested sentencing Tahir Asadullayev, Musa Hajiyev to ten years imprisonment, Anara Heydarov, Asif Prieva - to four years, Rashad Aslanov, Rashad Shukurov - to five years, Araz Shukurov, Vugar Isayev - to two years and six months, Elnur Shukurov, Elchin Hasanov - to two years.
The lawyers made a petition to postpone the process to prepare for speech.
The defendants were arrested in March this year as a result of operational search activities conducted by the Ministry of National Security. During the search, were discovered two TT and Makarov pistols.
The defendants are accused under the Criminal Code articles 206.3.2 (smuggling by a group of persons upon prior agreement), 228.1, 228.2.1 and 228.2.2 (illegal purchase, transfer, sale, possession, transportation or carrying of firearms, component parts to them, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices).
