Water level increases in Azerbaijani rivers

The water level has increased due to in early December in most Azerbaijani rivers.

The water level has reached 180-260 percent of the norm in rivers in the Guba-Khachmaz region, 130-180 percent in the Ganja-Gazakh region, and 175-215 percent in the Lenkaran-Astara region, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's Press Service told Trend today.

The water level in Gyragkesemen of the Kur River flowing into the Shamkir Reservoir exceeded the 10-day norm by 24 percent, and the water level of the Ganikh river flowing into Mingechevir Reservoir exceeded the 10-day norm by 33 percent.

Azerbaijan's river system contains over 8,350 rivers.
