The delegation of the State Supporting Fund for Development of Mass Media under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by the executive director Vugar Safarli was on a working visit to Stockholm from 7 to 12 December, the press office of the Fund said.
The purpose of the visit was to study the Swedish experience of state support to the development of media, to get familiarized with the structure, operation principles and activities of state agencies operating in this sphere, as well as to inform on a newly formed Fund in Azerbaijan and the forms of future cooperation.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Department on work with media of the Ministry of Culture of Sweden, officials of the Swedish International Development Agency (SİDA), managing director of the Organization of Assistance to Press, the director of the ETC press organization, journalists and the press representatives.
At a meeting with the leadership of the Swedish International Development Agency (SİDA) it was decided that during the working visit of the head of SİDA to Baku in early 2010, the form of cooperation will be widely discussed.
