Individuals who extorted money from police were sentenced in Azerbaijan.
Residents of the Khasilli village in the Jalilabad region Hasan Gasimov and Javid Hasanov were found guilty by the Azerbaijani Henious Crimes Court.
Gasimov was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison and Hasanov to a six-year suspended sentence.
The men committed an act of hooliganism against Jalilabad Regional Police Office Registration and Identity Card Desk Chief Aydin Bayramov in his office May 4.
They are charged with Article 182.2.1 (Extortion).
Gasimov agreed with Hasanov to extort money from the officer by sending him threats. The men first asked for 9,000 manat and later 10,000 manat.
