The prosecutor requested a six-year sentence for a secondary school director falsely accused of reporting a terrorist act in Azerbaijan.
Hidayat Huseynov, a secondary school director in the Chanlibel village of the Shamkir region, was found guilty earlier this month at the Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court.
The court's verdict will read out Jan. 6.
Huseynov falsely reported a bomb threat in his school to the Shamkir Regional Police Department and Emergency Situations Ministry.
Despite searches by law enforcement agencies, no bomb was found in the school. He was arrested by of the police department's employees.
Huseynov is charged with Article 216 (Falsely Reporting a Terrorist Act) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
Huseynov has worked at the school since 1990 and has 33 years of teaching experience.
