Azerbaijan sentenced individuals accused of attempting to murder a former police officer.
The Baku Heinous Crimes Court sentenced Ganja resident Elshan Alekberov to six years imprisonment.
He had a heated argument with Kapaz District Police Department former officer Arzu Tagiyev May 17, 2009. During the confrontation, he stabbed Tagiyev with a knife.
As a result of timely medical aid, Tagiyev survived.
Alekberov was arrested by the Kapaz District Police Department.
