A court passed a sentence on person accused of drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Heinous Crimes Court sentenced residents Firudin Mahammadov to 10 years imprisonment and seized his property.
He is convicted under the Articles 206.2 (smuggling), 234.4.3 (manufacture, acquisition, storing, transfer, transport or sale of precursors for the illicit manufacture and processing of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The officers arrested the accused when ting to smuggle drug from Iran to Azerbaijan in July 2009.
