Azerbaijan, Lankaran, Feb. 11 / Trend P.Aliyeva /

Religious literature selling shops may be limited in Azerbaijani regions bordering with Iran (Lerik, Astara, Lankaran, Masalli, Yardimli, Bilasuvar, Jalilabad), said Miryahya Badirov, State Committee for Working with Religious Associations Department Head for the southern region.

There are 16 shops and kiosks in the southern region, selling religious literature.

According Badirov, currently the activities of these stores are being investigated.

"Though enough time has passed after the enactment of the new law, none of these stores in this region got permission from the State Committee to perform these activities," said Badirov.

"The stores may face restriction unless they get permission in accordance with Article 22.3 of the Law on Law "On Religious Freedom (literature with religious content, religious objects and other informational materials with religious content are sold only by specialized trade facilities, created at the permission of the relevant bodies of executive power), said Badirov.
