Method of working with 5 year contract can be applied for Secondary school teachers in Azerbaijan, said Musa Ahmedov, head adviser of Educational Ministry.
If the new rules will be approved, teachers will have to sign a contract for 5 years. The contract can be extended or cancelled after expiration based on his/her credit points, to be gained at qualification courses, he said.
Presently, 170,000 teachers work and 1.420 million students study at 4,552 public secondary schools. Some 1,005 teachers work at 17 private schools.
New education rules are being developed, which will support new module credit system of qualification courses, at the ministry now, Ahmedov said.
Vacancy for teachers in 2010 will be announced after the regional education departments provide a necessary list of vacancies to the Education Ministry.
If to take in account that we are in the middle of education period, the exams to fill the vacancy will be held at the beginning of next education year.
