Individuals accused of smuggling drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan have been sentenced in Azerbaijan.
The Baku Heinous Crimes Court sentenced Akif Atashov to 12 years and Sanan Huseynov to nine years imprisonment.
They are charged with Article 206 (Smuggling) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The accused were arrested by employees of the Interior Ministry's Department on Combating Drugs in June 2009.
