An Azerbaijani court sentenced the people persons accused of drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Today the Heinous Crimes Court sentenced Iranian citizen Abbas Ayub to 15 years imprisonment, Afghan citizen Rzayi Ismatulla, Muhammed Shahveli and Amir Asadulla- 3 years, Yasin Rzayi- 2 years, Azerbaijani citizens Rovshan Huseynov - 10 years and Fuad Kalantarov -13 years, Nijat Kerimov-15 years and Ilkin Mammadov -12 years imprisonment.
These people were arrested on Sept. 6, 2009 as a result of operational activities undertaken by employees of the National Security Ministry (NSM) in the territory of Bilasuvar region. During the examination of the accused were found and seized more than 11.5 kilograms hashish, about 3 kilograms of opium and more than 2 kilograms of heroin.
