Azerbaijan has announced the contest to create TV channel, which specializes in cultural programs, the National Council for Television and Radio said.
This decision was made at a meeting of the National Council, a statement said.
The realities of broadcasting were discussed at a meeting. It was noted that most TV programs are entertaining. TV channels strive for cheap rating. The number of intellectual programs has declined considerably. The importance of TV channel dedicated to education, world culture, history, geography, national values of Azerbaijan was stressed.
According to the decision, the contest has been announced to create TV channel "Culture" in the territory of Baku and Absheron at a frequency of 44 August 4-September 4.
