Canoeing duo, consisting of Azerbaijani rowers Sergei Bezugly and Maxim Prokopenko, ranked the first in the qualifying race for 1000 meters of double boats (C-2) at the World Championships, which started today in the Polish city of Poznań, the Azerbaijani Rowing Federation told Trend.
Duo Bezugly-Prokopenko scored three minutes 34.98 seconds and left behind their closest rivals from Latvia, Czech Republic, Canada, Hungary, Great Britain, Chile and Vietnam. Thus, the canoeing duo, won a license to the world championship final, to be held Aug.21.
