It is necessary to establish relations among Azerbaijani and Iraqi NGOs, Iraq's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Heydar Al-Barrak said at the meeting with Azerbaijani Presidential State NGO Support Fund head Azay Guliyev.
The relevant state agencies of Iraq have expressed interest in the NGO sector, state support to NGOs, legislation on NGOs, their relations with the government and experience gained on other issues, Al-Barrak said.
Guliyev informed Al-Barrak about the stages of development of the NGO sector in Azerbaijan, development of NGOs and activities undertaken to strengthen the civil society, as well as establishment, structure and activities of the Fund.
The sides exchanged views on possible cooperation of NGOs of Iraq and Azerbaijan.
