Universities of Azerbaijan and Turkey sign memorandum of cooperation

The Baku State University (BSU) and the Turkish May 19 University signed a Memorandum of cooperation, the BSU Press Service told Trend.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Academician Abel Magerramov, BSU Rector, said the Baku State University cooperates with many higher schools of Turkey and that this cooperation is efficient.

The rector voiced his confidence that the Memorandum signed with the May 19 University will contribute to development of cooperation.
The Memorandum will not remain on paper and will be effective from the point of education and science development, said Prof. Dr. Huseyn Akan, the Rector of the May 19 University.

According to the signed Memorandum of mutual understanding, the two higher schools will cooperate in the field of exchange of researchers, students, masters and doctoral candidates; provide mutual assistance to upgrade teachers' skills, exchange experience in advanced development methods, and arrange bilateral scientific symposiums, seminars and conferences; partake in projects and programs of mutual interest; and cooperate in the preparation and use of common diploma programs.

Attending the signing ceremony were the professional and teaching staff of the BSU, the Pro-Rector of the May 19 University and Member of the Higher Education Commission of Turkey Sait Bilgich, the Dean of the Medical Faculty Heydar Shahinoglu, and the Dean of the Dental Faculty Salim Arichi.
