There are 30,000 civil servants in Azerbaijan, Civil Service Commission Chairman Bahram Khalilov told journalists.

He said that information about 12,000 civil servants has been entered into the register. About 300 civil servants registered are 65 years of age and older. Work is underway to determine what to do about workers who reach retirement age, as this process is still being developed.

Khalilov said that one of the two decisions will be taken regarding civil servants who are reaching 65 years of age.

"Either they will be sent to retirement, or with permission of the leadership of their state agency workplace, a labor contract will be concluded for another year. This may be repeated five times," Khalilov said.
