The National Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan does not agree with the opinion of the small number of TV channels in Azerbaijan.
"It's not about quantity. For a country such as Azerbaijan, nine nationwide channels is a great indicator. Nine channels broadcast on the territory of Azerbaijan," chairman of the Council Nushirevan Maharramli told Trend on Wednesday.
He noted that Azerbaijan has sometimes been compared to Georgia, but there are only 4-5 TV channels broadcasting across Georgia. The remaining channels are regional, and this fact speaks volumes.
Touching upon the regional channels, Maharramli said that this issue should be paid more attention and, of course, conditions in the regions are needed- the material-technical base, human resources, advertising.
