Azerbaijan claims to have won over 50 licenses for the next Olympic Games in London, vice president of National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan Chingiz Huseynzade told Trend.

Fifty Azerbaijani sportsmen has already win the right to participate in XXX Olympic Games in London.

Huseynzade noted that originally it was planned to win more than 50 licenses.

"There is nothing unexpected here. We worked hard, for several years in preparation for the Olympics, and the result was predictable," the Vice-President of the NOC said.

He said taking into account the potential of the athletes, the task is to win at least 52 licenses, but it is possible to win even more.

With regard to the participation of athletes in London Summer Olympics Huseynzade said that a special training plan has been developed for each sport.

"Preparation is held and will be continued on a specially designed plan. We are satisfied with the level of our athletes' preparation level," he said.

Azerbaijan has already won the right to be represented in 16 sports. In general, Azerbaijani sportsmen will take part in an additional five sports - canoeing, rowing, cycling, gymnastics and fencing on the London Summer Olympics compared to the summer Olympics in Beijing.
