Kazakhstan, Astana, June 1 / Trend, D. Mukhtarov /

Residents of the Kazakh city of Almaty will be able to put down digital signature on the identity card. This service is now available at centers of service to the population of Almalinsky and Bostandyk areas of the Almaty city. Service is introduced within pilot project on recording the digital signature on the ID chip.

The advantage of placing a digital signature on the ID card is its safe storage, excluding the possibility of copying the closed part of a key. In case of lost of identity cards, electronic signature cannot be used without knowing PIN code (similar to credit card). One can use digital signature stored on the ID chip by using a card reader for reading smart card.

It should be recalled that a signing digital signatures on electronic documents began in Astana in late April. To date, the digital signature is already recorded on 332 ID cards. It is planned that from July 1 this service will be available in all centers of service to population of Almaty and Astana, and subsequently in other population service centers of Kazakhstan.
