The Azerbaijani parliament has appointed several judges today at the last extraordinary meeting of the spring session.
Vugar Guliyev was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, Kamaladdin Badalov, Togrul Aliyev, Ilgar Huseynov, Raghib Gurbanov, Vidadi Mammadov, Nureddin Mustafayev, Elshan Veliyev and Jahangir Yusifov were appointed as judges of the Baku Court of Appeal, Shamil Rzaguliev - Ganja Court of Appeal judge, Vidadi Jafarov and Telman Guliyev - Sumgayit Court of Appeal judges, Maharram Allahverdiyev, Etibar Jamalov, Tofig Heydarov and Nusrat Mirzoyev - Shirvan Court of Appeal judges, Vidadi Gasimov and Humbat Salimov - Sheki Appeal Court judges.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, Ali Huseynli said that the judges appointed in 2007 got high points on a test exam.
"At present, the most professional 55 people who showed good results on this test exam, were appointed to vacant positions in the courts," Huseynli said.
The Parliament also appointed Garadagh district court judge Ismail Khalilov, whose terms of office expire on July 28, as a judge of the Baku Court of Appeal. Zagatala region court judge Elchin Huseynov was appointed as a judge of the Sheki Court of Appeal.
