A meeting was held with the participation of Caucasus Muslims Office head, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade in Chechnya's capital Grozny. It is dedicated to the 10-th-anniversary of the Council on Hajj and Hajj Mission in Russia, the Caucasian Muslims Office told Trend today.
Before the meeting between Allahshukur Pashazade and Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov, there was another meeting. The issues of mutual interest were discussed there.
Ramzan Kadyrov stressed the important role of the Caucasian Muslims Office and personally Allahshukur Pashazade in facilitating the conditions for Russian pilgrims to pass through the Azerbaijani territory during the Hajj.
The Chechen leader read out an order awarding Pashazade with a medal for essential contribution, established for the 60th anniversary of the first Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov.
Ramzan Kadyrov has also voiced its decision to name a street in Grozny in honor of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade as a gratitude for strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the region, the principled position against terrorism, radicalism and separatism.
Allahshukur Pashazade was awarded with an honorary Order of the Federation Council for special services.
Over 200,000 faithful perform Hajj during the Hajj mission, Commissioner for Hajj Ilyas Umakhanov said. Each year, roughly 15,000 believers perform Hajj by transit via Azerbaijan.
