Azerbaijani Press Council held an event dedicated to 15 years anniversary of first English newspaper AzerNews.
The head of Press Council Aflatun Amashev congratulated the newspaper and its founder- doctor of philosophy in Arab philology Fazil Abbasov personally.
Amashev noted, AzerNews is the first English newspaper in Azerbaijan, which presents Azerbaijani news to world community in a good faith. He also stressed the importance of PDF and E-versions of the newspaper, which simplify access to news.
Fazil Abbasov noted, AzerNews is read by tourists, businessmen and diplomats not only in Azerbaijan, but also abroad.
Attention was given to newly established application for mobile access to the newspaper, which is an innovation for Azerbaijani Press.
The use of commercials by the newspaper is rated favorably, as possibility to be an independent publication.
The Editor in Chief of the newspaper Sevil Mikayilova spoke on innovations in the newspaper: the publishing format and e-version have been updated. The personnel has also been renewed, the commercial department has been launched. Applications for simplified access to the newspaper are being created, considering technical progress.
The Editor also noted that negotiations with World Newspaper Association have been completed and that AzerNews is the first Azerbaijani newspaper to join this organization.
The Advisor of Korean Embassy in Azerbaijan Kim Chong Kho sincerely congratulated the newspaper, noting its professionalism and honesty.
The guests congratulated the newspaper's jubilee and wished further success.
