Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan Aflatun Amashov will take part in an international conference dedicated towards self-regulation of the media in Kiev as part of a Council of Europe project, a council spokesperson told Trend. The conference will be held on Nov 16 - 18.
The event will be attended by the heads of CIS media structures and some European countries. The current state of freedom of speech and expression in the post-Soviet and post-socialist area and new trends in media self-regulation will be discussed. There will also be an exchange of views on the media coverage of recent parliamentary elections.
Chairman of the Democratic League of Journalists Yadigar Mammadli will also participate in the event.
