One in five women in Turkey suffers from breast cancer, Turkish Haber7 TV channel reports on Wednesday with reference to Turkey-Europe Surgery Center.
According to the center, the number of women suffering from breast cancer has increased in recent years. Death rate among them is 50 per cent of total number of ill people.
According to the Turkish Health Ministry's statistics, in 2011 the number of cancer sufferers in the country hit 400,000 people, and every year 150,000 people have symptoms of the disease.
As the observations of the recent years show, the greatest number of cancer cases is recorded in the Marmara Sea region of Turkey.
