Refugees and internally displaced persons accommodated in Baku State University dormitories, will be resettled in a new campus in Mushvigabad sometime between February and March. This was said by Ali Hasanov at a meeting today on upcoming actions to be taken under "The State Programme for the Improvement of the Living Conditions and the Employment of Refugees and Displaced Persons".
A resettlement process will begin in the warmer months. The children of internally displaced people accommodated in Baku State University's hostels will continue studying at schools in the existing settlement, Hasanov said.
Eight settlements with 4,000 flats will be created for refugees and internally displaced persons in 2013. Some 20,000 people in this category will be provided with flats, Hasanov said.
Around 300 million Manat have been allocated from the state budget for these purposes in 2013.
"At present, a campus with 25 five-storey buildings in the city of Ganja, and 15 five-story buildings to replace the tent camp in Barda are being constructed", chairman of the State Committee said.
Similar buildings will be constructed in Absheron, Imishli, Garadagh, Ismayilli, Balakan and Gabala regions of Azerbaijan, he said.
