The head of the National Olympic Committee of Great Britain, Lord Sebastian Coe watched athletic practices at Baku Olympic complex organized jointly by the Sport for Development Public Association which is a successor of International Inspiration and the Azerbaijani Athletics Federation. Coe also met with participants of the event.
Sebastian Coe said that Azerbaijan is an active member of the "International Inspiration" program.He said the program aims to engage as many children as possible in sports.
"We can see an example of this in Azerbaijan. Results achieved in Azerbaijan, satisfy us," Coe said.
It should be reminded that Sebastian Coe led the Organizing Committee of Summer Olympic Games 2012 in London.
The students of Baku schools N23 and N27 took part in the activity organized on TOP's and children's athletics along with children with disabilities from the Special boarding school N7 in the town of Saray.
The main purpose of the event was the integration of healthy children and children with disabilities as well as the promotion of sports.
The implementation of the "International Inspiration" program in Azerbaijan started with a memorandum of understanding, signed in December 2007 between the governments of Azerbaijan and the UK.
