The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have signed an agreement on cooperation, which formalized relations between the two entities.
The agreement stipulates international and local cooperation in areas such as mine action, including stockpile destruction, mine victim assistance, mine risk education, human resources training, experience exchange.
Cooperation between ANAMA and IOM dates back to 2007. The two entities jointly implemented a two-phased project called "The Socio-economic Reintegration Programme for Mine Victims in Azerbaijan".
The project is financed by Austrian Development Agency, International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance of Slovenia, Republic of Korea and other donors.
