IDEA Campaign organised a seminar on the topic of "International Mobilization Day against Nuclear War" on January 29, 2013. Seminar attented by more than 30 students was held at IDEA Resource Centre based at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Head of the laboratory of the Institute of Radiation Problems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the "Wind" Public Union, Ph.D. in Chemistry Sciences, professor Mr. Islam Mustafayev delivered a lecture during the event.
During the interactive event full of with interesting discussions between participants, it was noted that waste waste generation as a result of nuclear energy production has its crucial role in the emergence of negative impact on surrounding environment.
International Mobilization Day against Nuclear War was announced in the international conference held in Delhi in 1985. In many countries all over the world, series of events on nuclear war environmental and social complications are organised, and the memory of nuclear war victims is commemorated.
It is noteworthy that environmental awareness raising is one of the main activity directions of IDEA Campaign that was launched by the Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, on July 12, 2011.
