ISESCO will be become a co-founder of the new Center for Tolerance being established in Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Elshad Iskandarov has met with Director General of ISESCO Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.

The sides exchanged views on cooperation with ISESCO and discussed the development of bilateral relations, the press service of the State Committee told Trend.

The Committee Chairman informed the guest about the state of tolerance existing in the country, and also noted the highest level of tolerance in inter-religious relations in Azerbaijan.
In turn, the ISESCO Director General expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan, and said that it is currently a rarely encountered phenomenon.

The meeting also discussed the activities of the Center of Tolerance, established on the basis of the memorandum of understanding between the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations, the Azerbaijani office of the UN and the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation signed during the first Baku International forum "State and Religion: increased tolerance in a Changing World" held in Baku in December last year.

The meeting also discussed the contribution that ISESCO may make to the Center and specific projects. ISESCO gratefully accepted an offer to become a co-founder of the Center of Tolerance.
