983 Turkish Army soldiers have committed suicide in the years 2002-2013, Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said, Anadolu agency reported on Saturday.
Majority of suicide cases (157) were recorded in 2002.
According to official information released by the Turkish General Staff in 2013, the personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces consists of 678,617 people.
313 generals serve in the Army, Air Force and Naval Forces, 33 generals - in the Gendarmerie Forces and one general and admiral - in the Coast Guard Forces.
