The first round of financial competition for foreign NGOs announced by the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan has completed, the press-service of the Council reported on Tuesday.
91 projects from 15 countries (France, UK, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Russia, Turkey, USA, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ukraine and Lithuania) were presented at a Council meeting conducted in this regard.
Four of them are on the protection of human rights and freedoms, six - on informing the public of Europe and the United States about the Khojaly genocide to prevent such tragedies in the future, 15 - on the fight against xenophobia, Islamophobia and racism, 28 - on strengthening peace and security and addressing negative results of regional conflicts in the paradigm of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,38 - on strengthening intercultural dialogue for successful cooperation between countries and civil societies.
48 projects have been admitted to the second round after being reviewed by the experts of the Council of appeals by foreign NGOs.
The Council will take full project proposals until August 19.
The meeting also noted that the evaluation of the projects is nearing completion, and the final decision may be made on August 1.
