Over 360 criminal groups were neutralized in Azerbaijan in the first six months of 2013.
This information was given on Wednesday at an expanded meeting of the Interior Ministry Board dedicated to the results of activity on fighting against crime, protection of public order and the assurance of public security in the first six months of 2013, as well as forthcoming tasks.
During the meeting, it was noted that crime detection has improved and amounted to 87.4 percent and the number of detected crimes has increased by 14.4 percent or by 1,379 instances.
Thanks to the taken measures to prevent organized criminal activity, around 361 criminal groups and about 10 organized criminal groups (around 1,039 people in total) were neutralized, about 1,130 crimes, including around 320 serious and especially serious crimes committed by them were detected.
