The persons possessing real estate in Azerbaijan worth 100,000 manats, or holding the same amount of money in Azerbaijani banks will be able to obtain the right for temporary residence in the country.
The remarks were made by the chief of the State Migration Service, third rank migration service counsellor Firudin Nabiyev in an interview to the newspaper Republic.
Taking into consideration the country's rapid development, people who have invested in the country's economy with at least 500,000 manats, will obtain the right for temporary residence for up to three years, Nabiyev added.
In addition, the Migration Code reflected the provision on the extension of a temporary residence permit for up to two years. It should be noted that currently the temporary residence permit is issued for a year. The Migration Code also reflects the matter of issuing permission for temporary or permanent residence as an exception to those who are the carriers of dangerous viral diseases, married to citizens of Azerbaijan, as well as to people without citizenship.
The head of the State Migration Service also gave information about the changes in the Migration Code which came into force on August 1. In particular, the registration on the place of stay of foreigners and stateless persons and the application of other relevant standards were simplified. One of the changes regulated by the Code is related to the registration of migration of foreigners and stateless persons. These include procedures for registration, its goals and provisions.
According to Nabiyev, with the adoption of the code, the procedures of transit passage of foreigners and stateless persons through the territory of the country will be changed. With the help of a unified information system on migration, procedures for registration of foreigners on their place of stay were defined and the whole registration procedure was simplified.
"The simplifications are also envisaged in issuing permission for living and work. The existing legislation did not allow to increase the term of temporal residence for more than four times, as well as to issue permission for private employment. But with the adoption of the code these limitations were eliminated," the head of the State Migration Service said.
According to him, the foreigners with Azerbaijani citizenship, stateless persons, person's married to Azerbaijan's citizens, those who applied for obtaining refugee status and who obtained refugee status and political asylum, those who have in their guardianship persons under 18, and the disabled persons do not need the get permissions.
