Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 27 /Trend I. Isabalaeva/
Payment for medical services, rendered at institutions engaged in private medical activities in Azerbaijan is regulated by Article 13 of the Law 'On private medical activity' dated December 30, 1999, the Deputy Minister of Health Elsever Agayev said on Friday during an online press-conference.
According to him, the article states that the payment for medical services rendered by private medical institutions and persons engaged in private medical practice, is carried out on the basis of contracts concluded directly with patients, contracts concluded with the institutions or the citizens in favour of a third person (the patient), contracts concluded with health insurance companies for the medical care, which is rendered on basis of compulsory and voluntary health insurance, and contracts concluded for charitable programs.
Tariffs for medical services provided under contracts concluded with the subjects of private medical practice, with individuals and organizations (including with insurance companies for rendering medical services on basis of voluntary health insurance) are determined by the agreement between the parties, he said.
The Deputy Minister also said that world experience has been used in the preparation of proposals on sale of medicine in pharmacies at common prices. The proposals have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The proposals presented to the Cabinet of Ministers envisage the sale of all kinds of medicines in different pharmacies at common prices. Prices will be indicated on the packages of all medicines. Therefore the experience of Turkey, Eurasian countries and other countries has been studied and analyzed. Final proposals have been submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development. It would be better not to wait adoption of any decision by late 2013, because there are several technical issues, which should be solved," the Deputy Minister said.
