Azerbaijani Ombudsman departs for Hungary

Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 12

By Sabina Ahmedova - Trend: The Commissioner for Human Rights (ombudsman) of Azerbaijan, Elmira Suleymanova has departed for Hungary to participate in the OSCE/ODIHR meeting, to be held on November 13-15, in Budapest, the Ombudsman Office told Trend on Nov. 11.

The meeting will be held with the support of the Council of Europe.

This international event will be attended by representatives of national human rights institutions from 40 countries.

The main purpose of the meeting is the review the European network of national human rights institutions and discussion of the strategic issues, as well as adoption of the annual plan of activities, along with the strategic plan.

The meeting will also discuss organization of a pilot academy for trainings, to be held by OSCE/ODIHR for national institutions.
