Over 400 workers of the Iran Tire plant, located near the city of Karaj and engaged in the production of tires, held a protest outside the enterprise, Iranian ILNA agency reported on Jan.21.

According to the information, the plant workers went on strike due to the dismissal of 80 employees.

The protesters point out that the plant management had made an announcement about financial problems and lack of basic materials, and its intent to gradually reduce the number of employees. Workers said that 80 people were dismissed today. Some of them have worked at the plant for 15 years.

The protesters are demanding return of the dismissed.
