Azerbaijan Student Youth Organisations' Union (ASYOU) and the Baku regional centre of Emergency Situations Ministry held a scientific and practical conference entitled 'March 1 - World Civil Defence Day', the ASYOU press service said on March 3.
The conference was held at the Azerbaijan State Economic University, according to ASYOU.
It was attended by ASYOU Chairman Shahin Ismayilov, Deputy Head of Baku regional centre, Colonel Jafar Mammadov, the representative from Education Ministry Vasif Mammadov, the university's Pro-Rector Zafer Bayramov and students from various Azerbaijani universities and secondary specialised educational institutions.
The conference heard reports on initiatives to educate young people about emergency situations, the role of modern information technology, main rules of conduct during a terror act, international experience and cooperation in emergency prevention and mental preparation of youth for emergencies and non-standard approaches to providing the security of students' lives and information security.
