The results achieved by the Azerbaijani gymnasts, Jala Piriyeva and Zuleikha Ismayilova at the 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku are a great success, according to the gymnasts' coaches.

"The girls are performing at the European championship for the first time and this is a great success for them," the personal coach of Piriyeva, Yasena Kuyumciyeva said on June 14 at a press conference after the junior team event awarding ceremony.

The personal coach of Ismayilova, Vafa Bakarova also expressed confidence that this success will continue in the future as well.

Although the Azerbaijani gymnasts were fettered during the press conference, which the coaches say is due to the excitement, they demonstrated their talismans that help them.

Jala Piriyeva's talisman is a lipstick, while Zuleikha Ismayilova has a little blue amulet.

The Azerbaijani gymnasts expressed gratitude to the staff of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, head coach Mariana Vasileva and their personal coaches.

They especially thanked for creating good and necessary conditions for holding this championship.

Azerbaijan ranked third in the junior team event at the 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku.

Azerbaijan scored a total of 94.364 points.
Russia ranked first with 96.815 points, while Belarus settled for the second place with 94.715 points.

The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships kicked off in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on June 13.

Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries compete for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku will last till June 15.
