Russian gymnast Irina Annenkova took the first place at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in the exercises with the ball among juniors, scoring 16.300 points.

Belarusian gymnast Maria Trubach took the silver medal with 16.016 points. Bulgarian gymnast Boryana Kaleyn settled for the bronze with 15.950 points.

Azerbaijani gymnast Jala Piriyeva gained 15.250 points in this discipline and ranked seventh.

The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is being held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.

Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries have been competing for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time. The championship is scheduled to wrap up on June 15.
