Iran's deputy foreign minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that the first group of injured in Gaza including 57 children and women are waiting for Iranian plane to take them to Tehran, for treatment.

Amir Abdollahian did not specify where the group currently is, however the Iranian aircraft is scheduled to land in Egypt.

Amir Abdollahian said that the same plane should transfer a 100-tonne consignment of Iranian humanitarian aid, and pick the injured people on its way back to Tehran, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported on July 30.

At this point, however, deputy FM said these issues have to be approved by Egyptian foreign ministry. Thus far, several days have already passed and no response have been received.

The official went on to note that Cairo's delay in issuing license for the flight carrying Iranian aid to Gaza through Egypt is not acceptable.

He called on the Cairo officials to expedite issuing the license.

Amir Abdollahian further expressed hope that Egypt will open Rafah crossing as soon as possible for the transfer of medicine and food to Gaza.

On July 25, Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif demanded Egypt permit Iran to send humanitarian aids for Gaza residents.

In a phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shokri last week, Zarif, expressed deep concern over the situation in Gaza, and called on Cairo to open the Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid.

Since July 7, Israel has attacked the Palestinian coastal territory with air and naval bombardments with the stated aim of halting Palestinian rocket fire.

More than 1200 Palestinians including women and children were killed so far during the operation dubbed 'Enduring Rock.' It is reported that the Israeli army lost over 45 servicemen during the hostilities.

Earlier, the UN's top human rights official, Navi Pillay, condemned Israel's military actions in Gaza. She also condemned Islamic militant group, Hamas for "indiscriminate attacks" on Israel.
