Azerbaijan, Baku, May 13 /Trend News, J. Babayeva/ A book entitled Karabakh War: Crisis and Conflict Management in the Caucasus Region has been published in Europe. The book has been published as a result of the project Conflict Management by the International Institute for Liberal Policy (Internationales Institut für Liberale Politik) in Vienna which was organized upon initiative and financial support by the Austrian Defense Ministry. The book is composed of scientific articles in German and English, the State Committee for Diaspora said. The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations. The book's authors are well-known specialists from Germany, Austria, Russia and Turkey. The book was written as a result of processes ongoing around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Azer Babayev, a young researcher from Azerbaijan, Doctor of Political Sciences at University of Mannheim in Germany, a member of the Azerbaijani students and researchers also participated in the project.
