Azerbaijani-Hungarian intercultural dialogue to be discussed in Budapest

The 4th International Scientific Conference on the theme of intercultural dialogue between Azerbaijan and Hungary started in Budapest on Nov. 17, the press service of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with the Diaspora told Trend News.

At the opening ceremony, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary Hasan Hasanov handed to professor at the Institute of Linguistics of Hungary Giorgy Khazaee and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Istvan Vasari the Embassy's awards for merits in strengthening and developing relations between the two countries.

On the first day of the event, devoted to literature and linguistics, reports were made about the lives of the specialists in Turkic philology, emigrated from Russia to Hungary after the First World War, about poets Fizuli and Shahryar, about Oguznam, the links in the names of peoples and tribes.

On the second and third day of the event, will be discussed the issues of history, archeology, ethnology and folklore.

The event is attended by scientists from Azerbaijan, Poland, Turkey, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Hungary, Kazakhstan. Organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Hungary, the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and the World Economic Institute of Hungary, the conference will end on November 19.
