Number of final examinations to be reduced at Azerbaijani schools

The number of final examinations at schools of Azerbaijan will be reduced over the next year, the Minister of Education Misir Mardanov briefed the media.

That decision was made after discussions with the representatives of the State Commission on Student Admission.

"The number of questions, however, will be increased, since the current number of questions is not enough to check the knowledge of one person, the Minister said on Dec. 26 In addition, it was decided to give different versions of questions to the same audience."

The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan also plans to conduct centralized examinations at higher education institutions on several specialties in the end of each semester, using the test system, the minister said.
According to him, this practice has already been successfully implemented at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute.
"In the future we plan to carry out centralized and final exams, using the test system," - said Fires.
