Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 23 / Trend News E.Ostapenko / The AGO Group intends to discuss Azerbaijan's commitments to the Council of Europe in Baku, head of the group and Romanian Ambassador to the Council of Europe Stelian Stoian said today after arriving Baku. "The AGO Group operates within the Council of Europe and is primarily involved in Azerbaijan and Armenia to determine whether the two countries are moving forward in the implementation of reforms within the council," Stoian added. According to the official, the group is expected to meet with senior Azerbaijani officials during the visit, as well as civil society and political party representatives. "We will discuss issues related to Azerbaijan's obligations to the structure, including human rights and freedom of the media. We can give as assessment only after the visit," he said. According to Stoian, the group will prepare a report after the visit. The AGO Group was established in January 2001 and monitors the implementation of Azerbaijan's commitments to the Council of Europe and operates under the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
