Azerbaijani chess player wins int'l tournament in Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 11 / Trend News T.Jafarov /

Azerbaijani chess player Farid Abbasov won first place in the Western Azerbaijani Martyr Generals Tournament in Iran, Irna reported.

Abbasov beat Iranian athlete Muctaba Tarazvani by five points in five matches. 

The tournament is held in the Iranian city of Urmiya Dec. 11-14. About 134 chess players from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Iran are attending the event.
